Mage Tactics combines successes from Full Command with elements of resource management and deterministic combat.

Players begin with a lone mage drawing arcane power in order to summon warriors and beasts to battle.

Players may channel use their units in combat or have the mage channel power through them, rendering them inneffective but allowing the mage to summon even more powerful creatures.

Sharing the same miniatures, grid based gameplay and terrain features as Full Command allows players to enjoy both systems with ease.
